We work in an open classroom with 5-6D. Our classroom is furnished to support our learning and interactions both in small groups and individually.
The use of BYOD within our classrooms allows us to open up our learning beyond the walls of our classrooms. We use devices to create, explain, research and present our learning to a variety of audiences and for a variety of purposes.
In English, we dive into stories and explore for the hidden messages within text and pictures. In Maths, we investigate numbers, patterns and shapes and love finding new ways of using our skills to solve problems. In Science, we are looking at light and in Geography we are finding out about the diversity of cultures and traditions of the Asian region.
As the leaders of our school we love working with our younger peers in programs such as Buddies with the Kindergarten students and Peer Mentoring with the Stage 1 students. There is nothing more satisfying than sharing the excitement of learning with someone else.
