Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support enhance the educational experience of every child.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Alfords Point Public School is proud to be part of a vibrant school community where parents/carers and community members come together to support our students and school.

A dedicated and friendly group of parents/carers, the Alfords Point Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) work together in close collaboration with school staff to support and enhance our children’s educational experience and make a positive difference in the school life of all students.

The Alfords Point P&C plays an essential role in fostering a positive school community. By working closely with school staff, the P&C helps to:

• Support students’ well-being and learning
• Encourage parental and community involvement
• Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all families
• Organise fundraising activities to provide additional resources
• Advocate for the school’s needs and priorities

This partnership strengthens the educational environment and contributes to the overall success and happiness of every child at the school.

P&C meetings

Alfords Point P&C meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm in the school library.

To become a member of the Alfords Point P&C a yearly $1.00 joining fee gives you voting rights from your second meeting and helps support P&C initiatives. Meetings are open to all parents/carers, come along, stay informed and have your say.

Election of the P&C Executive Committee is held at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year. The AGM is held in Term 1.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
